doubting Thomas

this past weekend was Lucas Aitchison's Confirmation! It was really nice.....Jon was his confirmation sponsor......He is such a great kid....he defiantly has a good head on his shoulder....he really wants to know his faith not just walk the walk..

..he has a servant heart! Like my husband :)

Father had a really awesome homily about doubting Thomas at the mass....

“Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Father talked about how Jesus does not judge.....he is here to keep loving us even when we ask questions!!!! If we don't question our faith then our faith stays stagnant! If you search and question then you are on the way to loving our God even more :)

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side,
and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me?

I don't know about you but I'm defiantly like Thomas!!!! I defiantly found my self saying PROVE IT! Especially when things start to shatter your world.....like Satan finding every tiny thing in your life that he can get his hands on!!! Every insecurity, every time you struggle with a sin, every time you try and do better and fail,,,,,,he is there to grab it and try and convince you that you are the worst person ever....and who would ever love you for that!!!! why would God ever want you think that.........But then you read this

Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples
that are not written in this book.
But these are written that you may come to believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

he wants you to trust and God has always placed a special person in my life who challenges me to remember what God really wants to share with me...LOVE!!!!.....and Satan just wants to convince you other wise!

Ok so Father did a much better job at explaining.....i wish that i had a paper to jot down what he was saying....i felt like he was talking to just me and me alone!!!!

I thought it was perfect for all the kids going through confirmation......that its easy to talk the talk....but not so easy to walk the walk (questioning and finding the answers!!!) This world is such a challenge but that's because we were given free will and some people choose the opposite then us!!! but I'm praying for them all and myself and our future children.....because you never know when an emergency or something extreme is going to happen in your life were you are going to have to choose which side your on!!!

Lord please bless all my friend's and family who are struggling right now. Please help us and place someone in our lives who will challenge us and keep us on the right track Lord! (even if we don't want to listen...open our ears and heart to listen :)) especially if we are that person who is suppose to share with the person struggling help us to step out of our box and share! Thank you Lord for all our friendships!
