safe and sound!!

Just a disclaimer....as you all know i can´t spell good and the spell check doesn´t work so please forgive me since i don´t have much time to type and go back and check everything!
I'm here safe and sound! the fights were very good and when i got to Peru this very nice lady from Canada helped me out......she could tell that i had never been there before (me look like i don´t belong there i don´t know what she is talking about!!!!HA!HA!HA!) she waited with me to go outside and WOW! am I glad she did there were men every were screaming TAXI TAXI and i couldn't´t find my short stocky afroperuvian!!!!!! but since he was short and in the corner.... i found him and it was all OK!!!!!!
So lets just say it is really hard for me to not call Jon and text Ruth Ann and monica!!!! and check facebook!!!!!
I of coarse love all the kids already and i´m learning new words all the time....like pee (peecha) , butter, park, some things they make up and so they all say it or they say half the word......so pretty much it makes it easier for me to know! I found that i do know alittle more then i thought......like one of the volunteers asked if i would do some physical therapy stuff with this boy (because she said that he hates her)....so of coarse i love a challenge!!!! he has seribalpallsy (sp?) so he has trouble using his hands especially his right....so i had to get him to use his right more....i then remembered what right was and said no every time he used his left (in a funny way) and got really excited and said, yes , good job!every time he used his right. who new that those simple terms would get him to do it for me. that same volunteer came over later and was very impressed that i even got him to use his right hand and get him to do all of the exercise!!!! God works in weird ways!
The food.....we eat a lot of rice and wheat and soups! I still have to take my acid reflux medicines!!!!!!!!
there is only 4 of us volunteers 2 others girls and one boy. us girls have to share a room....2 bunk beds and barley any room to move so we have to sleep with our suit cases....but at least we have a bed to sleep on!!!!
The children live very simply and i love it......they ask to go to the park all the time....so I'm thinking a park like ours....nope it is just grass!!!!! and no play ground equipment!!!!! but there is a library next to it and they color and read books!!!!! another little boy who taking a liking to me he cant see very well....and he thinks its funny that we can play games by just the little Spanish that i know like sit down stand up.....we play uno......and looking at books up side down.....i can´t figure out why but every time we go to look at a book he turns it up side down!!!!
I'm going to the children's hospital in Lima today so ill let you know how that goes!!! i hear it is exhausting!!!
Well i hope this dosen´t bore you all but this is my life for the next month!!!!! hopefully ill talk to ya soon! you can email too! Christinafath@gmail.com ( funny storey about the @ button you cant just push the button here you have to push alt and 4 6 to get it....that took me awhile!!!!!!)
